When The Industrial and Commercial Finance Corporation became Investors in Industry and was renamed 3i, it marked a bold, and some would say brave, proclamation of its ambition for the future. This new visual and verbal identity was a landmark in the history of financial services marketing. Here was a business that said "we are different and we will support ventures that are different too".
